A yoga danda is a wooden crutch used to alter the swara, or flow of breath.

The danda is often used prior to pranayama or meditation, but can be used at other times to alter the predominant swara of the user.

Generally, a danda is used to create a balance between Ida nadi (mental energy) and Pingala nadi (physical energy), allowing Sushumna nadi (spiritual energy) to flow.

To allow for different heights the danda is oversized and can then be cut to suit the user.

The Danda is designed and hand-made by Sanyamatma using solid oak protected with linseed oil.
