All mala and sumerani are handmade by Sanyamatma.
They are made with the intention that they are to be used as a meditation aid
to hold the mind fixed for the practice of mantra repetition.

Unless otherwise stated all mala have
108 beads separated by the
Bramhagranti, or knot of creation. Offset from the main loop is
a
Sumeru bead and tassle
to mark the end of 108 mantra repetitions
(similar to
the picture on the left). |

S U M E R A N I
Sumerani have 27 beads. They are continuous, without a tassle and are traditionally used for "Japa Anusthana", where japa is practised 24 hours a day for a set period. Because of the fixed number of beads some fit on the wrist some don't.
8mm beads fit most people. |

Tulsi plants are worshipped daily throughout India as the living goddess. The beads are associated with Radha and Krishna and have a calming effect. Tulsi is considered the most important plant in Ayurveda.
