M A L A Malas are traditionally made with 108, 54 or 27 beads, each bead is separated by the Bramhagranti, the knot of creation. Offset from the main loop is an 'extra' sumeru bead and tassel to mark the end of the mantra repetitions.

S U M E R A N I The 27 bead mala, known as sumerani, conveniently slips onto the wrist so it is always at hand. They are available with or without a tassel. Because of the fixed number of beads some fit on the wrist some don't. 8mm beads fit most people.
